California Dreamin'

The night before Kurtis got married, the family headed to Oakland to watch the A's battle it out with the Yankees. The game was boring, but the company was fabulous.

Art: A Wedding Portrait

I did a portrait of my cousin, Kurtis and his wife Crissy for their wedding gift.

I used colored ink on watercolor paper.

Here's the crappy cell phone shots of the work in progress...

Kurtis & Crissy

My cousin Kurtis married his sweetheart in the Oakland, California, temple on May 26. Nathaniel and I headed out to the festivities and had such a blast being with our family.

The temple sealing was absolutely beautiful. The couple's sealer was so frail, his voice so wispy, the room had to be utterly silent to listen to him. Kurtis and Crissy were looking at each other like none of us were in the room with them. It was tender and emotional, and so sweet.

Men in Black 3

I love free movies. I love seeing free movies and liking them when they're done. "Men in Black 3" was one of those movies.

Apple Crisp

I made this delicious apple crisp for Christmas morning breakfast. When Allison came to visit, we made it again on Sunday morning...and guess what, it was still a hit. The best part is — it's easy and pretty healthy for ya!

Oakland LDS Temple art

My parent's were married in the Oakland, California LDS temple. So for mother's day I whipped up this drawing/painting for Mom's gift.

Scans of Mom's art. I used colored ink on watercolor paper.

Cupcake decorating: LDS Young Women mutual activity

For a mutual activity a few weeks ago, the girls learned some cake decorating basics from one of their aunt's. The girls had a good time decorating...and eating their cake, too, of course.

LDS Young Women Birthday Card

One of the young women in our ward had a birthday. This is the card I came up with — the Young Women logo.

Colored ink on watercolor paper.

"The Young Women logo is a torch surrounded by the Young Women motto. The torch represents the light of Christ, inviting all to “come unto Christ” (Moroni 10:32). It invites all young women to hold up the light of Christ by keeping His commandments."
