Take Note

I wrote this awhile ago, but it still applies:

A note to myself,
Don't take yourself so seriously. Enjoy the ride. Laugh. And when it gets hard—laugh harder. Remember what it's like to be young, to be a child. Be grateful, and count your blessings. Remember what's important, but never forget to be silly. Never be too good or self-important for someone or something. Be spontaneous.
Don't be afraid to try something new. Remember that just because it's different, doesn't make it wrong or bad. Be patient. Forgive—that means yourself and others. Stay optimistic. Remember that a smile goes a long way. Kill 'em with kindness. Don't forget to pray. Forget your pride…if you forget anything, forget pride. Endure. Pay attention to the little things, they are often the most important. Speak your mind, stand up for what's right. Listen. Search for beauty in everyone and everything—remember that life is beautiful. Dream. Live deliberately. Love. Remember that service can go a long way. Don't be scared. Be considerate. Be compassionate. Be passionate. Remember the magic. Sometimes it's okay to indulge. Keep 'em guessin'! Be creative. Be fearless. Take too many pictures, but remember that sometimes it's better to see the world with your own two eyes. Explore. Slow down…don't go so fast. Just relax. Reminisce. Be personable, be warm, be open and trusting. Wear your heart on your sleeve. Take risks. Be bold. Sing, laugh, and dance. Remember that sometimes its better just to bite your lip. Try not to be judgmental. Turn the other cheek, and be understanding. Remember who you are, and be helpful—just like Mom always said. Continue to write. Read. Draw. Be loyal. Swim. Share. Cherish every moment. It's better to try and fail, than never try. Don't be afraid of mistakes, don't blame yourself…just learn from them. Live, learn, and move on. Remember God in all things—depend on Him. Live your life…live if fully and passionately. Wake up every morning with a smile on your face, and a purpose for your day. Live deliberately. Just live. Live…and just be.

Always,
