Cornerstone Group Home for Boys

I recently met with a group of boys living in a group home for juvenile delinquents. They created a clothing line with designs that make a commentary on social issues like materialism. A part of their proceeds go towards an organization that helps babies that are HIV positive. I was really impressed by their recognition for a need to change, both for themselves and society. I was also grateful for their recognition of their self-worth and potential capability. It was a real testament to me of the resiliency of the human spirit.

We ran their story in the paper shortly after the interview, along with pictures of their clothing. Read their story here.

A few days later I received a stack of thank you notes from the boys — I was so tickled! (One got brownie points for telling me I'm attractive!) They had a clothing line launch a few days later and Nathaniel and I went to show our support and of course, buy our very own t-shirts!

A thank you.

Wearing one of their T-shirts.

Always,

How sweet! Hopefully that had a lot of people attend and buy t-shirts. It's great when young people are so aware of the changes we need to make in society.

They were amazing kids! Great to see them effect change in themselves in such a way that both impacts their current state, their future as well as blesses others...gives ya hope in the world, ya know?
