We blessed our baby girl, Mercedes, this weekend at church. During a baby blessing, men from the church give a priesthood blessing to the baby as a way to formally give the baby a name, present them to the church and bless them in the name of Jesus Christ. For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a blessing is a joyous occasion to celebrate the new baby with family and friends. It was such a day for us!
Our beautiful girl!
I was so grateful to have the company of so many of our loved ones. It was fun to watch everyone meet Mercedes and get to know her sweet personality. And, thankfully, she was an absolute doll getting passed from person to person and hardly made a fuss!
Our little family of three!
With Papa and Nana.
With Abuela, Tia Becky and cousins Ethan and Mia. And with Abuela and Nana.
With our dear friends, Rachel and Russell and their son Michael.
With my aunt Kaye, cousin Kourtney and Mom.
Mercedes was blessed in the same gown that both me and my mom were blessed in. It was so fun to carry on that tradition with her! And, of course, she looked adorable!
After church, we all headed back to our apartment for lunch and dessert — and, of course, passing the baby around! We had a blast just sitting and visiting for hours.
