The night before Kurtis got married, the family headed to Oakland to watch the A's battle it out with the Yankees. The game was boring, but the company was fabulous.
My cousin Kurtis married his sweetheart in the Oakland, California, temple on May 26. Nathaniel and I headed out to the festivities and had such a blast being with our family.
The temple sealing was absolutely beautiful. The couple's sealer was so frail, his voice so wispy, the room had to be utterly silent to listen to him. Kurtis and Crissy were looking at each other like none of us were in the room with them. It was tender and emotional, and so sweet.
I made this delicious apple crisp for Christmas morning breakfast. When Allison came to visit, we made it again on Sunday morning...and guess what, it was still a hit. The best part is — it's easy and pretty healthy for ya!
For a mutual activity a few weeks ago, the girls learned some cake decorating basics from one of their aunt's. The girls had a good time decorating...and eating their cake, too, of course.
Getting some lessons

One of the young women in our ward had a birthday. This is the card I came up with — the Young Women logo.
Colored ink on watercolor paper.
"The Young Women logo is a torch surrounded by the Young Women motto. The torch represents the light of Christ, inviting all to “come unto Christ” (Moroni 10:32). It invites all young women to hold up the light of Christ by keeping His commandments."
